Typography is a very complex thing in Photoshop. many beginners are very attracted to typography, but when it comes to advanced tools, beginners gets confused and leave to learn typography. So here I have tried to make an underwater typography simple as possible. To start Download below Image files. You’ll need them in tutorial.
Alright, It seems that you are ready now! Lets Jump in to Photoshop.
Step 1: Open Underwater Background.JPG
Go to File > Open. and browse to file you have just downloaded.
This will open “Underwater Background.JPG” in Photoshop.
Step 2: Writing Name Text & Text Edits
Select Text tool from the toolbar. Shortcut: “T”
Write desired text on the plane. It will automatically create a new Text Layer in Layer pallate. I am writing “AWP” here. You can write anyting(Girlfriend’s/Boyfriend’s Name would be best, This will be a gift for her/him.)
You can use any Large & BOLD fonts. I am using Truetype font face: Showcard Gothic.
Font Size: 250 pt
Font Color: White
Position the text using “move tool (V)”.
Now it comes to an interesting part. – BLENDING OPTIONS
Click “fx” button right below the layers pallet.
From the pop-up menu choose Blending Options… at the top.
It will Open up a Pop-up menu. Now copy my values from below screen shots.
After doing this…….. 😛
Now change text Layer’s Fill to 30%.
By doing this much.. your text will look something like this.
Step 3: Placing Animal Images
Go to File > Place > and select Turtle.PNG
place this turtle at desired location, use handle bars to resize and hit “Enter”
repeat the process for Octopus.PNG
Step 4: Placing Blue Shade.JPG
as done before in animals. follow the same steps : File > Place > Select blue shade.JPG and hit enter.
your blue shade.JPG will be in new layer in your photoshop document. dont resize it. it is already well placed. Just hit “Enter again to confirm it’s position.”
Change its Opecity : 20%
Step 5: Placing Texture.JPG
Repeat Step 4 for Texture.JPG
Layer’s Blending style (A Drop Down Menu just before Opacity): change it from “Normal” to “Soft Light”.
THAT’S IT, FINAL IMAGE IS READY!!!
